Guangzhou Norboe Garment Co.Ltd. has excellent premises that present very well and provide a very good working environment for the all workers. The amenities are more than acceptable as well as the staff dormitories. Cleanliness is paramount in all factory areas.

The factory adopts very sound procedures that provide the opportunity for a good result. There are a number of opportunities for improvement and these are identified at the end of this audit.

Pre-production planning is an area that requires some improvement particularly with regards to better documentation.

Staff is quality conscious and the operators appear to be well motivated to produce best possible quality. While there are sound quality procedures in place, there are some areas where improvements are recommended.

There is also a strong desire by management to deliver orders on time. While these dates are foremost in the mind of management staff, it will be important to establish other critical dates during the production planning stage so that each stage of production has specific goals and dates to be met to better ensure delivery dates are met with greater ease.

There is safety awareness by management and this is evident in the fact that they have all up to date fire fighting equipment that is regularly maintained. It is further evidenced by the factory layout providing clear access and ease of movement of goods and staff through the production areas.

All equipment is in very good order as a lot of the sewing. All equipment is well maintained through well trained sewing machine technicians.

As this factory only manufactures swimwear, there is no pressing or fusing that takes place on any of these garments.
